It’s important to note that licenses for Business Central come in three flavors: Team Member, Essential and Premium, with the human resources-related functionality falling under the Essential license. Significantly “upscaled” from the aforementioned Finance and Operations Business Edition, Business Central allows users to, as stated above, keep detailed employee records (such as contacts, qualifications and contract information), and codes can be assigned to employee records to enable managers to group and track employee information according to factors such as experience, skill set, training and union membership.
Similarly, employee absences can be logged, tracked and tagged using reason codes, while employee expenses can be posted to the general journal so workers can be reimbursed easily using the same method used to pay a vendor.
To begin using the human resources functionality of Business Central, you must set up employees and other basic information before going on to associate various codes to an employee, which allows you to filter information for specific employees.
